[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] The Naver app, which gathers all digital tools centered on offline real-life activities, is becoming more deeply integrated into users' daily lives as its convenience is enhanced through updates.
According to Naver on the 30th, the company introduced the ‘Na.’ service last April, which combines ▲Naver Pay on-site payment ▲QR check-in ▲unmanned convenience store access pass ▲Naver certification ▲membership cards all in one place.
Naver explained, "The Na. service has over 50% usage by the MZ generation, who are proactive in using IT devices and quick to follow digital trends."
Since the launch of the Na. service, the registration rate of membership cards from about 40 partner stores such as convenience stores and gas stations has increased by 73% compared to before the update, and the number of membership card registrations has exceeded 2 million. Currently, memberships from approximately 49 various industries, including Hyundai Oilbank, Amorepacific, Nature Republic, and Bandi & Lunis, can be accumulated and managed at once through the Naver app. In particular, for CU and GS25, both on-site payment and point accumulation are possible at the same time.
Access to over 150 Emart24 unmanned convenience stores nationwide has also become easier with the QR code type ‘Naver Access Pass.’ Previously, to enter Emart24 unmanned convenience stores, users had to tag a credit card or the barcode from the Emart24 app to open the door, but using the Naver app allows for more convenient access.
The usability of QR check-in using the Naver app has also greatly improved. Both the number of users and executions of QR check-in via the Naver app have increased by more than 20% compared to before the update, and especially on Apple Watch using the Naver app, the number of executions per person has risen to over 2.1 times, showing faster growth in usage.
The ‘Order Again’ feature, which allows reordering with the same options from a favorite store’s menu, also offers high convenience. If there is no recent order history, users can receive recommendations for popular restaurants or cafes through ‘Find Nearby Stores,’ and discover hidden local eateries or shops located in alleys.
A Naver official said, "We are receiving positive responses by improving the usability and accessibility of the Naver app, and we will deepen its usefulness so that Naver search and services can be effectively utilized in daily life."
