Kim Hyun, Vice Chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, "Platform-Content Win-Win Relationship Must Develop"

[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] Kim Hyun, Vice Chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, stated on the 29th, "The government will also make every effort to develop a win-win relationship where platform operators and content providers compete with each other while relying on one another."

Vice Chairman Kim made these remarks in the afternoon of the same day at the 3rd Digital Media Content Promotion Forum meeting held at the Federation of Korean Industries building in Yeouido.

The Digital Media Content Promotion Forum is a policy forum involving industry, experts, and the government, launched in March this year. The 3rd meeting was held amid rising financial conflicts within the media industry, such as recent disputes over content usage fees between content providers and platform operators. The meeting's theme was also "Exploring directions for improving the media industry's financial structure and fostering win-win cooperation between content and platform operators."

Vice Chairman Kim said, "Through the Broadcasting Channel Fee Determination Improvement Council, we plan to establish a foundation for a fair content transaction environment, and also explore operating a consultative body among related ministries to discuss cooperative projects related to broadcasting and communication content and current issues."
