"Japanese Liberal Democratic Party Likely to Regain Majority in Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Election"

According to a telephone poll conducted by Japan's Kyodo News from the 25th to the 27th among about 1,000 Tokyo voters, the party support rates among those who have decided their vote were 31.8% for the LDP, 14.1% for Komeito (the coalition partner), and 12.1% for Tomin First no Kai. Currently, the majority party in the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly is Tomin First no Kai, whose special advisor is Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike.

However, the news agency analyzed that since 58.4% of voters have not yet decided their vote, the situation could still change.

Additionally, regarding the Tokyo Olympics opening on the 23rd of next month, 41.7% of Tokyo voters responded that it should be held without spectators. Opinions favoring cancellation or postponement again accounted for 29.2%.
