[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, who declared her candidacy for the presidential election, stated that regarding Yoon Seok-yeol, a leading opposition presidential candidate and former Prosecutor General, "If he becomes president by deceiving the people with a flower palanquin that the media has carried without proper verification, I think he would be more dangerous than former President Park Geun-hye."
On the 25th, on the program 'Kim Eo-jun's Dasbweida,' former Minister Choo claimed, "(Former Prosecutor General Yoon) might be thinking the same way as he did in the prosecution when he steps onto the political stage. It is dangerous."
She described the resignation of the spokesperson for Yoon's campaign after just ten days as "very strange," and questioned, "Can he run a presidential election with such a level of tolerance?"
She continued, "Seeing someone being dismissed after only ten days is very easy for a Prosecutor General. This is because all cases from prosecutors nationwide are placed under his feet, allowing him to take cases away," and pointed out, "It seems that Yoon's understanding of how the world works is fixed that way."
She added, "My politics have been shaped by playing a role in electing Presidents Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun," and said, "A presidential election is not something that can be controlled at will like a peddler's mood."
Regarding the so-called 'Yoon Seok-yeol X-file' allegations, she said, "The problem lies with that person (former Prosecutor General Yoon), not something we created," and sharply criticized, "Because the investigation and verification, which should proceed normally, are being accused as a conspiracy, the 'X-file' might have surfaced."
Minister Choo added, "The prosecution, media, and political circles have colluded to infringe on the people's right to know, but since (Yoon) is heading straight for the presidency, the public naturally becomes curious," and said, "That's just what has surfaced above the water."
Regarding her reason for running in the presidential election, she explained, "I thought I should hold on to the candlelight citizens who were disappointed and left, and ask them to join together again," and said, "Instead of being cautious, I decided to roll up my sleeves and step forward myself."
