On the 25th, 87 Youth and 41 Distinguished Contributors Awarded Online and Offline
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) awarded certificates of commendation to 128 exemplary youths and youth development contributors through online and offline channels on the 25th.
On this day, at the on-site award ceremony held at the Gangnam Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, certificates were presented to 36 workers from 17 child and youth organizations and facilities.
For the 92 exemplary youths and youth development contributors who could not attend the ceremony, certificates were delivered remotely.
Previously, the district selected 76 elementary, middle, and high school students who led by example in exemplary behavior and volunteer work.
The eligibility criteria included youths recognized as needing awards despite difficult family circumstances or those who practiced cooperative spirit based on community awareness. Eleven youths recommended by child and youth facilities were also included in the list of awardees.
Forty-one youth development contributors were also recipients of the awards.
These include leaders who contributed to youth harmful environment monitoring activities, violence prevention, sexual protection activities, meal support, and those operating youth shelters and study rooms.
Their support for youth capacity development, establishment of safety nets, and creation of a healthy nurturing environment were highly evaluated.
Shim Hye-young, team leader of the Gangnam Youth Training Center, expressed her award acceptance remarks, saying, “We will discover various training activities for exemplary youths and do our best in youth development and protection.”
