Discussion on Measures to Activate the Establishment of Organic Networks Among Community Resources

Hapcheon-gun Holds Dementia Community Council Cooperation Meeting On the 24th, Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam held a meeting of the community council for dementia management projects to provide an integrated and organic dementia management service.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam held a first half-year dementia management project community council meeting to provide organic integrated dementia management services and establish an efficient linkage system among related organizations.


The community council is composed of 8 experts from related organizations, including Chairperson Imi-gyeong, Director of the Public Health Center, and members from Hapcheon Police Station, Hapcheon Fire Station, National Health Insurance Service, Korean Senior Citizens Association Hapcheon Branch, and Mita Home Care Center's elderly customized care service.


This meeting involved in-depth discussions on the report of the 2020 dementia policy project implementation results, evaluation of the 2021 dementia management implementation plan, setting key promotion directions, and activation plans for linking community resources to successfully carry out the dementia management project.


In particular, practical and efficient measures were proposed regarding the roles of the public and private sectors for effective dementia project promotion, activation of organic network construction among community resources, and development and operation of programs tailored to the characteristics of our region.


A public health center official said, "This cooperative meeting was a very meaningful time to hear expert opinions from various fields on improving the negative perception of dementia remaining in the community, discovering public dementia guardians, and directions for more active dementia management projects for elderly people who may be isolated due to COVID-19."


Meanwhile, the Hapcheon-gun Dementia Safety Center, opened in December 2017, provides various integrated dementia management services such as short-term shelters for dementia patients, early dementia screening, support for dementia treatment management costs, dementia prevention education, campaigns for awareness improvement, missing dementia patient prevention projects, and other cognitive enhancement classes.
