Jeongeup-si Implements Change in Notation for On-Street Parking 'Odd-Even Parking System'

Jeongeup-si Implements Change in Notation for On-Street Parking 'Odd-Even Parking System'

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeollabuk-do (Mayor Yoo Jin-seop) announced on the 25th that it will change the odd-even parking system notation method at Chosan-ro and Jungang-ro roadside parking lots to a ‘Parking Allowed · No Parking’ notation method and implement it.

The current ‘odd-even parking system’ notation method implemented on both sides of Chosan-ro and Jungang-ro roads requires checking the date when using parking, causing inconvenience, and mistakes in the date can lead to illegal parking violations.

The city decided to maintain the current odd-even parking system but change the notation method on the currently installed LED electronic display boards for operation, considering these inconveniences.

The sections where the changes will be applied are from Hanamart on Chosan-ro to Jeongeup Girls' Middle School, and from Daehan Flower Market on Jungang-ro to Sangdong Misojiwoom Apartments.

Whether parking is allowed can be checked through the LED electronic display boards installed along the roadside, and the notation will be changed according to odd or even dates as ‘Parking Allowed · No Parking’.

The city expects that changing the notation method will increase the intuitiveness of the existing parking method, improve congestion caused by parking, help prevent pedestrian safety accidents, and alleviate traffic inconvenience.

Mayor Yoo Jin-seop said, “Voluntary participation and mature civic consciousness of citizens and drivers are necessary to resolve illegal parking and ensure smooth traffic flow,” and “We ask citizens to comply with traffic regulations.”
