The distribution specialist company hy announced on the 25th that it held a lunchbox delivery ceremony for the 'Happy Two Meals Project' with Suyeong-gu, Busan Metropolitan City, and the Happy Alliance. The signing ceremony held the day before was attended by Lee Sang-jin, hy Busan Branch Manager, Kang Seong-tae, Suyeong-gu Mayor, and Jo Min-young, Head of the Happy Alliance Secretariat (Happy Narae).

The Happy Two Meals Project is a campaign for children in welfare blind spots who do not get enough meals. It delivers lunchboxes to children at risk of missing meals for a certain period. It is a regional cooperation project created by Happy Alliance member companies and local governments.

According to the agreement, hy will provide its fresh logistics infrastructure and Fresh Manager delivery network. Through a cold chain system connecting refrigerated logistics hubs to refrigerated carts, fresh lunchboxes will be delivered twice a week to children living in the area. hy, sympathizing with the purpose, decided to provide three probiotic drinks free of charge for each lunchbox. The value is about 40 million KRW based on sales price.

Jo Min-young, Head of Happy Narae, said, "Children left in blind spots due to COVID-19 are feeling welfare gaps in various aspects," and added, "hy's refrigerated distribution system is the optimal system that minimizes concerns about food spoilage that can occur during the hot summer."

Fresh Manager checks the recipient's situation upon delivery to prepare for unexpected accidents. It also has the advantage of reducing the burden on beneficiaries with a friendly image.

Lee Sang-jin, hy Busan Branch Manager, said, "We are pleased to help children in welfare blind spots grow up healthy through our fresh logistics delivery system and Fresh Manager organization," and added, "We will continue to pay attention to supporting vulnerable groups and forming safety nets to create a society where we live together."

Meanwhile, hy has been conducting care activities for elderly living alone with Fresh Manager since 1994. This social contribution activity, which includes delivering dairy products and checking on the elderly living alone, has benefited 30,000 people in total. The company plans to expand collaboration with local governments and related organizations to increase the number of beneficiaries in vulnerable group meal support projects. The in-house volunteer group 'Love's Helping Hands,' operated by collecting all employees' salaries, has also been running since 1975.
