[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Healthy Family Support Center signed a business agreement on the 25th with the ‘Central Infertility and Depression Counseling Center’ under the National Medical Center to provide psychological and emotional support for infertile couples.
The Seoul Healthy Family Support Center promoted the agreement to offer customized services in response to the rapidly increasing difficulties faced by infertile couples, considering changes in Seoul’s family environment and diverse family characteristics. The Central Infertility and Depression Counseling Center was established in June 2018 at the National Medical Center, commissioned by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, to improve the emotional stability and quality of life of infertile couples and pregnant women.
The business agreement was conducted non-face-to-face to prevent COVID-19 infection, with Kwon Geum-sang, director of the Seoul Healthy Family Support Center, and Choi Anna, director of the Central Infertility and Depression Counseling Center, exchanging the agreement documents in writing.
Through this business agreement, the two organizations will share infrastructure to provide more systematic and professional family support services by mutually cooperating in ▲ early detection and active linkage of high-risk groups for depression and mental health among infertile patients, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and their spouses ▲ support and linkage of family policy services for Seoul citizens, and provision of information to enhance the recognition of each institution.
Kwon Geum-sang, director of the Seoul Healthy Family Support Center, said, “Based on the 4th Basic Plan for Healthy Families, we will connect and support family support services with the Central Infertility and Depression Counseling Center so that various families in the changing Seoul family environment can equally enjoy a healthy and happy life.”
The Seoul Healthy Family Support Center and the 25 Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Centers in Seoul’s autonomous districts operate various family support services to support the healthy family life of Seoul citizens. Related information can be found on Family Seoul.
