Myongji University Career Center Conducts 'Untact Live Career and Employment Special Lecture'

Myongji University (President Yoo Byung-jin) conducted an 'Untact Live Career and Employment Special Lecture' for three months from Friday, March 12 to Friday, June 25. The special lectures were held non-face-to-face via the online communication platform Zoom to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Hosted by the University Job Center, this special lecture was prepared to expand career and employment education for all grade levels. The days and times of the lectures were determined based on a prior demand survey targeting enrolled students and unemployed graduates, according to their preferences. Although the number of weekly sessions varied, the lectures were basically organized with career lectures on Tuesdays and employment lectures on Fridays.

The career lectures covered topics such as new media in the new normal era, planning marketing, self-branding through storytelling, lightening your career worries, exploring my strengths and job values through a life graph, and how to spend a successful vacation.

The employment lectures included topics such as the job market changed by COVID-19, understanding changes to get employed, 2021 public enterprise employment strategy planning, framing and case studies on composing experience into competencies, securing job competency materials and technical methods, NCS/large company employment strategies, and special lectures by current employees of Hyundai Department Store Group, DL E&C, Samsung Electronics, and Hyundai Mobis.

A representative of the University Job Center stated, “We conducted weekly career and employment special lectures on various topics for students who are having difficulties preparing for their careers and employment due to COVID-19. We hope that through these lectures, students will gain the courage to continue their challenges. Going forward, the University Job Center will continue to focus on supporting career and employment by planning programs that strengthen students’ employment competencies.”
