Izmedia Establishes NFT Specialized Corporation with 3 Billion KRW Investment... "Accelerating NFT Platform"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Izmedia is accelerating its new business by establishing a specialized NFT (Non-Fungible Token) subsidiary.

On the 24th, Izmedia held a board meeting and announced that it resolved to establish a 100% subsidiary, Gosen Media, with an investment of 3 billion KRW. Gosen Media plans to have Kim Gitae, CEO of Izmedia, serve concurrently as its head.

An Izmedia official stated, “Along with CEO Kim, we plan to appoint Randy Zuckerberg as a key executive and recruit blockchain experts. We intend to accelerate the establishment of a global NFT platform together with industry professionals.”

The company entered the blockchain business in March by announcing a change in its largest shareholder and an addition to its business objectives. It also recruited professionals, including Randy Zuckerberg, who has experience at multiple Silicon Valley companies such as Facebook, as new executives.

Since May, the company has been accelerating its new business by building cooperative relationships with top-tier domestic and international companies such as Nasdaq-listed Greenbox POS, MetaLab, which serves clients like Google and Apple, and GroundX, a Kakao subsidiary.

The company said, “We are in the process of recruiting engineers from Silicon Valley in the United States” and added, “We plan to attract global talent to strengthen expertise in the blockchain field.”

Meanwhile, Izmedia announced this morning that Randy Zuckerberg will transition from an outside director to a non-executive director in charge of new business. This decision was made to enable more active management participation in a relatively legally flexible environment.
