[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] KCC received a plaque of appreciation from Pyeongtaek City in recognition of its contributions, including efforts to improve residential environments through support of eco-friendly building materials while participating in the Saetteul Village project.
On the 23rd, KCC held the "2020 Public-Private Partnership Aged Housing Improvement Support Project Completion Ceremony" at the gymnasium of Bokchang Elementary School in Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, to commemorate the completion of the Saetteul Village project.
The event was attended by about 100 people, including key figures from participating organizations such as Yoon Jae-up, Executive Director of KCC, Choi Im-rak, Director of Urban Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Kim Hee-soo, Director of Regional Balance at the National Balanced Development Committee, as well as Saetteul Village project officials and residents. The ceremony included expressions of gratitude and encouragement for the achievements and efforts made so far.
At this event, KCC was recognized for its contributions to regional development by sparing no support to successfully promote the Saetteul Village project and received a plaque of appreciation from Pyeongtaek City. KCC has supported necessary building materials such as its paints and windows to improve the residential environment for vulnerable groups while participating in the Saetteul Village project.
This Saetteul Village residential environment improvement project began in November last year and was completed this month. It was conducted in six regions: Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province, Busanjin-gu in Busan Metropolitan City, Yeongju City in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Jeonju City in Jeollabuk-do, Seocheon County in Chungcheongnam-do, and Cheongyang County in Chungcheongnam-do, benefiting a total of 210 households. By completing the residential environment improvement with KCC’s eco-friendly building materials, it is expected that disaster risks will be reduced and building energy efficiency will be enhanced, leading to savings in heating and cooling costs.
A KCC official stated, "We will continue to take an interest and provide support so that marginalized and underdeveloped villages can be revitalized with hope and vitality, becoming happy and livable communities," adding, "Through high-quality building materials, we will fulfill our corporate social responsibility by creating safe spaces to live in and fostering a community of coexistence."
