[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Rendering images of Samsung Electronics' next-generation smartwatch, the 'Galaxy Watch Active4,' have been released.
On the 23rd (local time), IT specialist media PhoneArena reported images of the Galaxy Watch Active4, citing famous IT tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (@Onleaks).
According to the leaked images, the design of the Galaxy Watch Active4, which features a flat metal frame, appears overall more minimal compared to its predecessor, the 'Galaxy Watch Active2.' The two buttons located on the right side of the display are larger and more protruding than those on the previous model.
The 40mm model is expected to be retained for the Galaxy Watch Active4, but the 44mm model is likely to be released in a somewhat reduced size of 42mm. Additionally, it is expected to be available in four colors: Black, Silver, Gold, and Green. The Galaxy Watch Active4 will run on an operating system that integrates Tizen OS and Google Wear OS, and it is expected to be equipped with a new 5-nanometer processor.
The Galaxy Watch Active4 is anticipated to make its debut at Samsung Electronics' unpacking event for the foldable smartphone 'Galaxy Z' series on August 3rd. The August unpacking event is expected to unveil not only the 'Galaxy Z Fold3' and 'Galaxy Z Flip3' but also the 'Galaxy Watch4' and 'Galaxy Buds2.' Meanwhile, the expected release date at the end of August is presumed to coincide with the Galaxy Z Fold3's release date of August 27th.
The price of the Galaxy Watch Active4 has not yet been determined. PhoneArena predicted, "Since the Galaxy Watch Active4 will clearly be a competitor to Apple's Apple Watch SE, it is highly likely to be priced around $279 (approximately 320,000 KRW), similar to the Active2."
