[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Ryu Hojung, a Justice Party lawmaker known for her bold fashion choices, attracted attention this time by arriving at the National Assembly wearing overalls.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, Ryu attended the government questioning session held in the main chamber of the National Assembly wearing the Justice Party's symbolic yellow round-neck T-shirt paired with denim overalls.

She explained, "I understand that overalls originated as workers' uniforms. They are comfortable to move in, so I often wear them casually. There is no special meaning behind it."

Earlier, on the 16th, at a press conference held on the National Assembly lawn urging the enactment of the Tattoo Industry Act, Ryu wore a purple dress that exposed her back.

At that time, Ryu wrote on her Facebook, "Ryu Hojung, an unfamiliar politician, creates an unfamiliar scene within the National Assembly grounds. Some people scold me saying, 'Being a lawmaker is not for doing things like that,' but I believe that is exactly why lawmakers exist."

She continued, "Because the role of lawmaker Ryu Hojung is to be a speaker representing the voices of citizens suppressed by social and cultural prejudices, a punching bag that endures the reflected criticism and blame."

In October last year, during a parliamentary audit of Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Korea South-East Power, and others, she attracted attention by appearing in a worker's uniform with a helmet while questioning.

In August last year, she also attended a plenary session of the National Assembly wearing a pink-toned dress.
