[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Former professional baseball player Lim Chang-yong, who was accused of not repaying money borrowed from an acquaintance, received a summary order with a fine of 1 million won. A summary order means that when the prosecution requests the court to impose a fine or penalty through written review instead of a trial, the court reviews the documents and issues a sentence without a formal trial.

According to the legal community on the 23rd, Judge Shin Se-a of the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 27 recently issued a summary order imposing a fine of 1 million won on Lim. Lim was accused of borrowing 25 million won from a woman in her 30s whom he knew around July last year and failing to repay 15 million won of it.

Lim joined the Haitai Tigers (now KIA Tigers) in 1995 and played for 24 years before retiring in 2019.
