[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The timing of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's political declaration is being delayed by several days from the originally reported 27th. Although it is explained that the delay is due to practical issues still being coordinated, there is speculation that it may be in consideration of the first trial verdict on July 2nd for the medical law violation case involving Yoon's mother-in-law, Ms. Choi.

Choi Jihyun, deputy spokesperson for Yoon's campaign, said in a phone call on the 23rd, "It will not be on the 27th. We will proceed with discussions as soon as possible and inform you of a definite date." She added, "We are coordinating between the end of June and early July and will announce it as soon as it is confirmed."

After his political declaration to run for president, Yoon plans to tour the country to gauge public sentiment. He intends to create many opportunities to express his thoughts not only to citizens but also to reporters. The first destination has not yet been decided. When asked whether he would visit Gwangju first, Deputy Spokesperson Choi said, "It is a very important place, so he will go there eventually, but the first schedule has not been decided yet."

Policy planning for the presidential campaign promises is also actively underway. Lee Seok-jun, former head of the Office for Government Policy Coordination who recently joined Yoon's campaign, said on the same day, "We hold policy meetings every day," adding, "Right now, thinking about policy is our number one policy." Yoon's legal representatives, lawyers Son Kyung-sik and Lee Wan-gyu, plan to assist Yoon mainly through legal support rather than direct participation in the campaign. Lawyer Son is also the legal representative for Yoon's mother-in-law, Ms. Choi.

Regarding the so-called ‘Yoon Seok-yeol X File,’ Yoon continues to follow a ‘direct confrontation’ stance without additional comments. Through his spokesperson the previous day, Yoon stated, "Do not engage in political manipulation with an unverified anonymous document. Disclose it to reveal the truth, and clearly hold accountable those responsible for spreading false information and illegal surveillance."
