Mayor Heo Seong-gon Meets Governor Kim Kyung-soo to Request Support for Local Issues

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 22nd, Heo Seong-gon, mayor of Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, met with Governor Kim Kyung-soo at the launch ceremony of the Gyeongnam Carbon Neutrality Promotion Committee and proposed major local issues.

On this day, Mayor Heo requested that Gimhae City be included as part of the Northeast Asia logistics platform construction project being promoted by Gyeongnam Province.

He also explained that for the new airport construction project to successfully emerge as the gateway airport of the Southeast region, it is necessary to develop a hinterland city capable of functioning as a Northeast Asia industrial logistics hub, emphasizing that Gimhae City is the optimal location and a key point for transportation and logistics, and requested support from the province.

Finally, he proposed that when the Southeast Mega City is launched, the joint office be hosted in Gimhae City, which is geographically central to Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong), and also requested 1 billion KRW in special adjustment grants for the opening of urban planning roads to prevent resident safety accidents and improve the traffic environment in the Jangyu Mugae-dong area.
