[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] SoftBank Ventures announced on the 23rd that it has invested 10 billion KRW in VoyagerX, a company operating AI-based services.
This investment is part of a total 30 billion KRW funding round, with Altos Ventures and Yellowdog each co-investing 10 billion KRW.
VoyagerX was founded by CEO Nam Se-dong, who successfully launched Cyworld and B612. The company has released AI-based video editor 'Vrew' and mobile scanner vFlat.
'Vrew' is software that allows users to edit videos easily and quickly, similar to editing documents in Word. Users can conveniently create subtitles using AI-generated automatic captions from the video's audio, and also easily use multilingual translation features.
'vFlat' is an AI mobile scanner app that analyzes the curvature of documents or books and scans them flat. It is used by over 1 million people monthly in Korea, India, and the United States.
SoftBank Ventures focused on VoyagerX's team of top AI developers and its excellent product development and service capabilities. Lee Jun-pyo of SoftBank Ventures said, "We expect the company to grow into a global enterprise in the AI technology market, which is directly linked to national competitiveness."
VoyagerX plans to hire up to 100 AI developers following this investment. CEO Nam Se-dong emphasized, "We will develop into the company that nurtures the most AI talent."
