[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Harman International's premium audio brand JBL announced on the 23rd that it will operate a pop-up store showcasing various products in celebration of its 75th anniversary.
The pop-up store, which opened on the 22nd, will be operated until February next year in the lobby of the P·O·S·T exhibition hall, an art complex cultural space on the B1 floor of Jamsil Lotte World Mall. Operating hours are from 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM.
This pop-up store was prepared to communicate with a diverse range of consumers about JBL’s outstanding sound as well as the trendy design characteristics of its products. Collaborating with P·O·S·T, a space for the MZ generation, the store goes beyond a simple retail concept by incorporating various artworks, allowing customers to directly experience and listen to the products.
The characters and key visuals of the JBL 75th anniversary pop-up store were created in collaboration with fake artist SAMBYPEN and can be seen at the pop-up store. Visitors can listen to or purchase JBL’s Bluetooth speakers, headphones, wireless earphones, soundbars, as well as Harman Kardon’s home theater and Bluetooth speaker products. Various events and special discount benefits are also offered for customers who purchase at the pop-up store.
JBL will sell 75 units each of the Bluetooth speaker FLIP 5 and wireless earphones REFLECT MINI NC, as well as 10 units of the BAR 9.1 soundbar equipped with Dolby Atmos support and detachable surround speakers, at a limited special price on a first-come, first-served basis.
Customers who purchase over 100,000 KRW at the JBL 75th anniversary pop-up store will receive a limited edition SAMBYPEN x JBL poster. Additionally, from the 23rd of this month to the 25th of next month, visitors will be given tickets to the 'Korean Eye 2020 Special Exhibition' held at the P·O·S·T exhibition hall (one ticket per 100,000 KRW spent, up to 4 tickets), along with various other benefits.
Founded 75 years ago, the premium audio brand JBL was launched in 1946 by engineer James B. Lansing. From movie theaters to sports events, jazz clubs and concert halls, portable speakers to groundbreaking headphones, JBL has continuously contributed to the advancement of audio technology in professional sound, home and automotive audio, multimedia devices, and connected technologies.
Today, JBL speakers are used in more than half of the world’s movie theaters, sports stadiums, and music venues, with over 100 million portable speakers sold worldwide. According to market research firm Futuresource Consulting, last year JBL ranked first in global market share by sales volume and sales value in the Bluetooth speaker and party speaker categories.
