[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 23rd that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Consumer Agency to enhance the rights and interests of tourism consumers and revitalize the tourism industry through big data exchange.
This agreement centers on mutually providing the Tourism Organization's tourism big data (including mobile communication, credit card, navigation, and social media data) and the Consumer Agency's consumer counseling and hazard data, along with proprietary technologies. Through this, the Tourism Organization will be able to combine the Consumer Agency's data with its own big data to derive more detailed improvements in domestic travel infrastructure and analyze travel trends.
As the first collaborative project under this agreement, the two organizations plan to analyze travel trends involving pets.
Shin Sang-yong, Vice President of the Tourism Organization, expressed, "Through this business agreement, we expect to analyze consumer complaints about domestic and international tourism from multiple perspectives, contributing to the creation of more consumer-oriented tourism infrastructure and product development."
