[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] COEX announced on the 23rd that it will restructure its business by entering the hybrid event service business that incorporates IT technology into eco-friendly MICE events starting in the second half of this year.
COEX will utilize the eco-friendly stage equipment system 'AV-Drop,' which covers an area of up to 70㎡, for hosting large-scale events. This modular design is recyclable, and by completely replacing traditional wooden stages with AV-Drop, it is expected to achieve a carbon emission reduction equivalent to planting about 4,000 30-year-old Korean pine trees annually.
Additionally, COEX will introduce an experiential service called 'AR Portal' using AR (Augmented Reality) technology to provide event attendees with an immersive experience as if visiting a third space directly. Through the AR Portal, various content experiences such as event site tours, store visits, and factory tours are possible, offering differentiated corporate marketing opportunities. Furthermore, to keep pace with the continuously increasing demand for hybrid events, COEX will also provide the 'COEX Live Popup Studio,' which enables live streaming regardless of the event type or location constraints.
From the 24th for two days, COEX will hold the 'COEX Open House,' inviting industry stakeholders such as exhibition and conference organizers and meeting planners to demonstrate and explain the new hybrid services for the first time.
Lee Dong-won, President of COEX, stated, "We have launched new services focused on customer experience and value through eco-friendly management and the introduction of MICE tech," adding, "As a global leading MICE company, we will present the direction for the industry through continuous challenges."
