Gangbuk-gu, Recruiting Students for July Programs at Neighborhood Learning Centers

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) will begin accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis from July 25 for the July online programs at the Neighborhood Learning Centers, targeting local residents and owners or employees of businesses located in the area.

The Neighborhood Learning Centers project utilizes local spaces to offer various classes to satisfy residents' learning desires. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, most classes will be conducted online.

The district has prepared a total of 16 classes. Foreign language courses such as "Introduction to Japanese Translation" and "Adult English Conversation" are offered, along with finance and self-development classes including "Building a Successful Image through Self-Leadership," "What Exactly Are Cryptocurrency and Blockchain?" and "Real Estate Auction Investment with Small Capital."

There are also craft courses like "Knitting a Vest by Hand" and "Autumn Flower Arrangement Class," as well as humanities classes such as "Reading Together: The Illusion of Fairness" and "Art Stories More Cinematic than Movies."

Additionally, the district plans to operate offline practical classes including "Self Haircut and Simple Styling (Suyu-dong)," "Gardening Class (Beon-dong)," and "Rice Cake Maker Certification Course (Mia-dong)." The programs will strictly adhere to social distancing guidelines, including limits on the maximum number of participants.

Those interested in enrolling can check the schedule and apply through the Gangbuk-gu Office Neulbaeumteo website. Tuition is free, but students must prepare their own materials.

Park Gyeom-su, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, stated, "As more residents seek to improve their quality of life through learning, the importance of lifelong education is growing day by day. We will strive to create an environment that supports continuous learning for our residents."
