[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) announced on the 21st that it received a donation of ‘health supply packages’ worth about 100,000 KRW per person for 30 people from ‘Hy Corporation (hy)’.

The ‘health supply package’ consists of one box of toothpaste (5 pieces), one box of CareOn Black Sesame & Bean (20 pieces), one box of Red Ginseng Jelly (15 pieces), and one box of fermented milk (6 Yakult, 6 Multivita, 4 Will), which were delivered to vulnerable elderly households in the area struggling with health management due to COVID-19 through visiting nurses in each neighborhood.

Along with delivering the packages, the visiting nurses measured the elderly’s blood pressure and blood sugar, checked their health, provided consultations, and taught simple strength-enhancing exercises that can be done at home to boost the vitality of the elderly.

An elderly person who received the package and visiting nurse that day expressed gratitude, saying, “I have been spending a lot of time at home, so it was hard to see people, but I am very thankful that you came to visit, gave me gifts, and conducted health checkups.”

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu said, “I thank the Hy Corporation officials who always take the lead in caring for the health of local elderly residents,” and added, “I hope the donated supplies will help elderly people who are experiencing depression and isolation due to the suspension of senior centers and social distancing. We will continue to do our best to ensure there are no blind spots in health care for the elderly through more thorough visiting health management services for the socially marginalized.”
