Attendance at the Residents' Briefing on the Expansion and Improvement Project of the Two-Lane Road in Tongyeong Jwajin District
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Jeong Dong-young, a member of the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council (People Power Party, Tongyeong 1), attended the residents' briefing session on the road improvement project in Jwajin District, Gwangdo-myeon, Tongyeong City on the 22nd and embarked on an active campaign to promote the project in his constituency.
The residents' briefing session held that day included an explanation of the alignment plan for Local Road No. 1021 and a time for residents' opinions and Q&A.
In particular, the Jwajin District in Tongyeong has had residents' demands for over 30 years to expand the dangerous one-lane section due to narrow road conditions into a two-lane road, and since entering as a provincial council member in 2018, Councilor Jeong has persistently requested the promotion of this project.
Accordingly, at the request of Tongyeong City last year, the provincial road department is currently conducting a feasibility study on the project.
Procedures are underway, including holding briefing sessions to collect residents' preliminary opinions and determine the most efficient road route.
Councilor Jeong is playing a connecting bridge role by gathering opinions regarding opposing public sentiment to help promote the project more rationally.
Councilor Jeong stated, "I will do my best as a provincial council member to fulfill the role I can play in the process of promoting this long-standing residents' wish project that has not been resolved due to various issues."
