[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) will discover individuals, communities, organizations, and institutions that have contributed to realizing gender equality, expanding women's social participation, and promoting women's rights and interests, and will award the 'Gender Equality Award.'

The district plans to select about seven recipients and present certificates of commendation at the 2021 Seodaemun-gu Gender Equality Week ceremony scheduled for September 7 (September 1?7).

Candidates must have resided or been active in Seodaemun-gu for more than one year and have contributed to improving gender discrimination, developing women's capabilities, spreading work-family balance culture, improving childcare environments, supporting marginalized women, preventing domestic violence and sexual violence, and discovering and nurturing women activists.

Recommendations can be made by heads of institutions and organizations within Seodaemun-gu, community representatives, or five or more residents of the district.

Applicants can download the recommendation form and achievement report from the Seodaemun-gu website's public notices, fill them out, and submit them along with supporting documents by visiting the Women's and Family Division on the 2nd floor of Seodaemun-gu Office, sending an email to 20090221578@sdm.go.kr, or using registered mail by 6 p.m. on July 16.

The selection of awardees will be conducted through the 'Seodaemun-gu Gender Equality Committee' and the 'Seodaemun-gu Public Evaluation Committee' and will take place in August.
