[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Lee Jumin, Chairman of the Road Traffic Authority, participated on the 22nd in the ‘ChumChum Challenge,’ a daily traffic safety practice campaign for the successful establishment of ‘Safe Speed 5030.’

The ChumChum Challenge emphasizes a people-centered advanced traffic culture with the message, “A safe dance when together! Stop immediately when you see a person!” and is conducted in a relay format by nominating the next participant through social networking services (SNS).

Since the first release of the challenge video featuring a dance created by Ambiguous Dance Company at the ‘Safe Speed 5030 Proclamation Ceremony’ hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in April, it has been spreading mainly through SNS.

Chairman Lee, who joined after being nominated by Kwon Yong-bok, Chairman of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, nominated Park Nam-gyu, Director of the National Forensic Service, and Park Cheol, DJ of TBN Korea Transportation Broadcasting radio program ‘BangBangGokGok,’ as the next participants.

Chairman Lee said, “I am grateful to participate in this meaningful relay, and I hope that this challenge will further spread a traffic culture for pedestrian safety,” adding, “The Road Traffic Authority will devote all its capabilities to protect the lives and property of the people from traffic accidents and to create a safe and happy society for the people.”
