Lotte Homeshopping established the second phase of 'Sum;Pyeonhan Forest' and held a completion ceremony.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 22nd that it has created and held a completion ceremony for the second eco-friendly green space for fine dust reduction, "Sum;Pyeonhan Forest," on a traffic island near Eunpyeong-gu Office in Seoul.
Lotte Homeshopping is carrying out a project to create green spaces in urban areas to reduce fine dust. Following the establishment of the first site at Yeoui Saetgang Ecological Park in April, it has completed the second site on a traffic island near Eunpyeong-gu Office. A total of 700 trees were planted on approximately 300㎡ of the traffic island in the middle of a road with heavy vehicle traffic to help reduce fine dust.
In December last year, Lotte Homeshopping signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Foundation to protect vulnerable groups from fine dust and respond to the climate crisis. Accordingly, it is working to create 50 "Sum;Pyeonhan Forest" sites by planting a total of 500,000 trees in fine dust intensive management zones by 2025.
A Lotte Homeshopping official said, "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibility by carrying out various eco-friendly social contribution projects, such as creating green spaces centered on fine dust intensive management zones."
