Baemin Provides Rest Support Payment to Delivery Workers Vaccinated Against COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Baedal Minjok is providing rest support funds to riders and connectors for COVID-19 vaccination. This is to encourage riders and connectors to take the lead in overcoming COVID-19, a national challenge, and to create a safe and healthy delivery culture.

On the 22nd, Woowa Brothers' subsidiary Woowa Cheongnyeon (CEO Kim Byung-woo) announced that riders and connectors who have completed a certain number of deliveries will receive 100,000 KRW as rest support funds upon receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

First, the eligible applicants for June are riders and connectors who have made 20 or more deliveries per day for at least 15 days each month over the past three months. Eligible individuals will be notified individually via text message and can apply by attaching their 'COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate' by the 30th of this month. The rest support fund will be provided once regardless of the number of vaccination doses and will be combined with the nearest delivery payment date. The eligibility criteria for July will be the same as June, and rest support funds after August will be announced separately later.

Woowa Cheongnyeon has continuously supported riders and connectors facing difficulties due to COVID-19. From the early spread of COVID-19, they provided hand sanitizers and masks, and also paid 820,000 KRW per person as livelihood support to riders quarantined as suspected COVID-19 cases. Additionally, they provided a gratitude payment of 500,000 KRW to riders who completed deliveries for more than 200 days annually despite COVID-19, heatwaves, and heavy rain, totaling 260 million KRW in support.

Kim Byung-woo, CEO of Woowa Cheongnyeon, said, "Vaccination of delivery workers is an important issue for customers using the delivery app and restaurants as well," adding, "In addition to this support fund, we will seek various measures to help delivery workers work more healthily and safely."
