[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Sung Kim, the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, who is visiting Korea to discuss North Korea-related issues including the U.S.-South Korea senior-level talks on North Korea's nuclear program, will pay a courtesy call on President Moon Jae-in on the afternoon of the 22nd.
The Blue House announced that President Moon is scheduled to meet with Representative Kim at the Blue House main building at 2:30 PM that day.
During the meeting, discussions are expected to focus on coordinating North Korea policies between the two countries, incentives for dialogue with North Korea, and progress in the peace process on the Korean Peninsula.
Representative Kim, who arrived in Korea on the 19th, attended the U.S.-South Korea and U.S.-South Korea-Japan senior-level talks on North Korea's nuclear program held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the morning of the 21st. On the morning of the 22nd, he met with Minister of Unification Lee In-young and stated, "President Biden and President Moon had a very excellent and in-depth conversation regarding the approaches of the U.S. and South Korea toward North Korea."
