[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Haman-gun, Gyeongnam is accelerating the installation work of the Chilwon Samgeori roundabout.
The project is being promoted to reduce the delay time at the existing signal intersection of Chilwon Samgeori and to improve traffic safety levels. Although construction originally started in early May, it was delayed due to difficulties in securing rebar caused by rising raw material prices.
The county announced that it has recently secured the necessary rebar for the construction and can now proceed with the work in earnest.
Chilwon Samgeori is the intersection where the old National Road No. 5 (currently County Road No. 13) and the urban planning road toward Chilwon city area cross.
There were high demands for improvement of the intersection due to high-speed driving on the four-lane road and long signal waiting times.
Once the roundabout is completed in November this year, unnecessary waiting times will be drastically reduced, traffic flow will become smoother, and accessibility to Chilwon city area is expected to improve.
