[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Teenagers who collectively assaulted a peer student with an intellectual disability have been booked by the police.

On the 21st, the Samsan Police Station in Incheon announced that they have requested arrest warrants for two teenage girls, including A (17), on charges of joint assault and joint injury. The police have also launched an investigation into three other teenagers, including B (16), who were at the motel where the assault took place.

A and others are accused of brutally beating C (16), a victim with a level 3 intellectual disability, at a motel in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, around 9 p.m. on the 16th, causing severe injuries to her face and other areas.

At the time, C’s mother, unable to contact her daughter, used a smartphone app to check her location and found the motel. There, she discovered her daughter naked and covered in various filth. C is currently receiving hospital treatment, and it has been reported that her eyes, nose, and ears are severely swollen due to the assault.

The police believe the perpetrators had assaulted C prior to this incident and are conducting further investigations. Some of the assailants stated, "We hit C because we thought she was spreading bad rumors."

She expressed her feelings, saying, "A and others stripped my daughter’s clothes off and beat her, pouring rinse, shampoo, bananas, ashtrays, chewed gum, and toilet water on her head, even filming a video. My daughter’s eyes and ears are severely bruised and swollen to the point she cannot see or hear properly. She suffers from nightmares every night, and I am worried about the lifelong mental shock and trauma she will carry."
