[Featured Stock] Bohae Brewery Rises on 'Kim Dong-yeon Theme'

[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Bohae Brewery is showing strength following reports that former Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Kim Dong-yeon will soon declare his presidential bid.


As of 2:26 PM on the 21st, Bohae Brewery is trading at 1,270 KRW on the KOSPI market, up 75 KRW (6.28%) from the previous trading day.


Bohae Brewery has a market capitalization of 172.4 billion KRW, ranking 671st on the KOSPI. The number of listed shares is 136,785,979, with a par value of 500 KRW per share.


Bohae Brewery has been grouped as a theme stock due to Vice President and CEO Lim Ji-seon being an alumnus of the University of Michigan, the same alma mater as former Deputy Prime Minister Kim Dong-yeon, who holds a bachelor's degree from Michigan and a master's and doctorate in public policy from the University of Michigan.


Bohae Brewery was established in 1952 for the purpose of manufacturing and selling alcoholic beverages and was listed on the KOSPI market in 1988.


Its main business includes the manufacturing and sales of soju, fruit wine, liqueur, takju (unfiltered rice wine), general distilled spirits, whiskey, and food and beverages.


Bohae Brewery continuously launches new products such as Ipsaeju, Bohae Bokbunja-ju, Bokbadeun Brother, Yeonnam Yeonga, and the sterilized Makgeolli Soonhee.
