On the 21st, the 100-day inauguration ceremony for Chairman Jang In-hwa was held at the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A code of ethics proclamation ceremony took place.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Jang In-hwa, chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Busan CCI), announced a management policy marking his 100th day in office, focusing on the introduction of ESG management and strengthening the think tank.
Busan CCI announced on the 21st that it has designated the period until the 25th as a commemorative week to mark the 100th day since Chairman Jang In-hwa’s inauguration and the launch of the 24th council, and will inform the local community of Busan CCI’s new changes through various events.
First, at 10 a.m. on the same day, an ethics code proclamation ceremony was held at the Chambers Square Hall on the first floor of Busan CCI to introduce the recently highlighted ESG management into Busan CCI’s operations.
The proclamation ceremony was conducted by reading the ethics code compliance pledge signed by all employees, followed by six representative employees by rank delivering the pledge to Chairman Jang In-hwa.
The ethics code pledge includes respect for members, compliance with laws and regulations, morality necessary for job performance, prohibition of discrimination in the workplace, fair personnel management, and rationality and a high level of social ethical awareness for secretariat operations.
A Busan CCI official said, “In a situation where global interest in ESG management is focused, bold introduction and innovation of advanced management techniques are essential to properly fulfill the role as the command center of the regional economy.”
Also, to perform the role of a compass for the regional economy, one of Chairman Jang In-hwa’s core pledges, the opening ceremony of the Corporate Trend Analysis Center, which upgraded the existing research and investigation functions, was held at 10:40 a.m. in the office on the 9th floor of Busan CCI.
Busan CCI has rolled up its sleeves to solve pressing regional issues and advance the industrial structure.
At 11 a.m., Busan CCI appointed a mammoth policy advisory group consisting of 20 members across 20 fields including urban development, finance, the 4th industrial revolution, tourism, and MICE at the conference room on the 8th floor of Busan CCI.
This is expected to serve as the best think tank for solving regional economic issues and establishing future development strategies.
Despite today being their first meeting, the policy advisory group generated various ideas such as △hydrogen hub city creation strategy △integration transport of Gadeok New Airport and railway △e-mobility parts cluster and flying car station construction △establishment of the Southeast region 4th industrial ICT convergence testing and certification center △platform for co-growth of Busan’s shipbuilding and shipping industry △ESG response measures for Busan companies.
Jang In-hwa, chairman of Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “To overcome the crisis Busan is facing, it is necessary to boldly abandon the previously failed problem-solving methods and strive to create opportunities within a new platform,” adding, “We will promote Busan as a smart advanced manufacturing city, a Northeast Asia representative complex logistics hub, and a global tourism and MICE base.”
On the 23rd at 7 a.m., during the commemorative week, Busan CCI will hold a special session of the Busan Economic Forum titled ‘ESG Risk Management in the Post-COVID Era.’
Then, at 11 a.m. on the 25th, to help local companies enter the rapidly growing live commerce market, Busan CCI plans to hold a business agreement ceremony with Lala Station, a local live commerce platform company.
