The newly released Oreo Ice Cream Stick (92ML) features a rich flavor created by the combination of a crispy Oreo chocolate cookie coating and creamy vanilla ice cream (non-dairy fat), now available at convenience stores.
Oreo, first sold in 1912, is a popular cookie consumed annually in over 7.5 billion units across more than 100 countries worldwide. In South Korea, it holds the number one market share in the sandwich biscuit category and continues to receive steady love by launching various new flavors.
The Oreo ice cream, launching for the first time domestically, is a product of the UK-based Pronerisa Ice Cream, which officially produces the product under the Oreo brand license. In South Korea, it is exclusively imported and supplied by Zestco.
Pronerisa Ice Cream, somewhat unfamiliar to domestic consumers, is a global ice cream brand that owns Nestl?’s ice cream business in Europe and the United States. It is only available overseas in regions such as Europe and Australia, so the domestic launch is highly anticipated by consumers, and successful sales are expected due to strong interest and response.
A Zestco representative said, “This Oreo Ice Cream Stick is the first product introduced domestically among Pronerisa’s diverse ice cream lineup. Following this, cookie-shaped Oreo ice cream sandwiches and Kit Kat sticks will be launched this year, bringing a fresh breeze to the domestic ice cream market.”
