[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] The People Power Party has appointed Representative Kwon Young-se as the Chair of the External Cooperation Committee.
According to political circles on the 20th, People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok reportedly asked Representative Kwon to take on the chairmanship.
Considering that Leader Lee is planning a method to bring opposition presidential candidates into the People Power Party for a primary election, the Chair of the External Cooperation Committee is expected to play a key role in communicating with influential presidential candidates outside the party.
Representative Kwon is also one year senior to former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl at Seoul National University Law School.
Leader Lee offered Representative Kwon the position of Secretary-General, but Kwon declined.
The People Power Party is expected to approve appointments for the Chair of the External Cooperation Committee, as well as the Chairs of the Digital Party Committee and Talent Recruitment Committee, at the Supreme Council meeting on the 21st.
