Until June 27, Youth Artists' Curated Exhibition 'Hosutga Brunch' at Cultural Experiment Space Hosuseo... Providing Exhibition Opportunities for Artists Struggling Due to COVID-19, Offering Cultural Healing to Residents
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is holding a youth artist curated exhibition, "Lakeside Brunch," at the Cultural Experiment Space Hosu until the 27th.
The district prepared this youth artist curated exhibition to provide opportunities for young artists who lost their stages due to many performances and exhibitions being canceled or postponed because of COVID-19, aiming to satisfy the diverse cultural needs of local residents.
This exhibition, participated in by young artists from the Songpa Youth Policy Network and the Songpa Youth Culture and Arts Network Livepine, contains stories about the concept of "one person," which has been gaining attention in the COVID-19 era.
The district expressed the concept of "one person," which has been gaining attention in the COVID-19 era, through visual art works such as installation paintings, illustrations, and media art, so that residents or tourists visiting Seokchon Lake can comfortably enjoy the exhibition.
This exhibition features works reflecting the individuality of young artists, including Kang Taegumon, who works by borrowing instant images flooding the media; Choi Jinjeo, who sublimates everyday senses into art; Park Hari, who expresses herself through Oriental painting; and Jangso Interpreter, who applies interactive elements between audience and artwork to media art.
In particular, the media art work by Jangso Interpreter uses VR (Virtual Reality) technology, providing visitors with an opportunity to indirectly experience the virtual reality world.
The viewing hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Additionally, on June 26 and 27, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., a youth artist performance titled "A Spoonful of Music Waruru" will be held on the first floor of the Cultural Experiment Space Hosu.
The exhibition and performance can be viewed without a separate reservation after visitor QR verification and temperature checks, and all visitors must wear masks at all times.
Songpa-gu Mayor Park Seong-su said, "I hope residents experience various arts through the youth artists' curated exhibition and have a moment of healing," adding, "We will continue to discover and expand various win-win policies that provide young people with spaces for artistic activities and residents with opportunities to enjoy culture by making the most of cultural spaces in the region."
Meanwhile, exhibitions and performances by young artists are also scheduled to be held at the newly opened "Seokchon Lake Atelier" on the 9th.
Currently, to commemorate the opening, visitors can watch the "Seokchon Lake Atelier Opening Exhibition" and a musical gala show for free.
