[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum paid his respects at the funeral of Fire Captain Kim Dong-sik, who died in the line of duty while extinguishing the fire at the Coupang logistics warehouse in Icheon on the 19th, and comforted the bereaved family.

On the same day, Prime Minister Kim visited the funeral home located in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, and posted on social media (SNS), "I will surely remember and convey (Captain Kim's) courage and dedication. I pray for the deceased's happiness in the afterlife."

Regarding Captain Kim, Prime Minister Kim said, "For 27 years, he was always called the ultimate captain who took care of his colleagues and took responsibility until the very end at fire scenes," adding, "I earnestly prayed for a miracle, but in the end, we had to send off another firefighter. It is heartbreaking and sorrowful."

Prime Minister Kim also emphasized, "I will do my best to build a safe country so that Captain Kim's noble sacrifice will not be in vain."
