[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Some Gyeongbu Line KTX trains are experiencing delays due to an accident near Sintanjin Station in Daejeon.
Korea Railroad Corporation announced on the 19th, "Most KTX trains have been delayed since 3:30 PM due to an overhead wire malfunction between Osong and Sintanjin on the Gyeongbu Line," adding, "Some KTX trains are being rerouted via the conventional line between Seoul and Daejeon."
This is due to an overhead wire malfunction occurring around 2:37 PM near Sintanjin Station on the KTX Gyeongbu High-Speed Line in the direction of Busan. Korea Railroad estimates that the overhead wire was stretched due to contact between a train in operation and a bird.
