[Asia Economy Reporter Seoyoung Kwon] Moon Jun-yong revealed that he was selected as a recipient of the support fund from the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service's 'Art and Technology Convergence Support Project.'


On the 18th, Moon Jun-yong, son of President Moon Jae-in, stated in a post on his Facebook, "I announce that I have been selected for a support fund of 69 million KRW from the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service's Art and Technology Convergence Support Project." He added, "Out of 102 applicants, 15 were selected for similar amounts," noting that a total of 24 recipients were chosen.


Moon continued, "Art and technology convergence is a field I have worked in for a long time, so I devoted great effort to applying," and said, "Being selected for this project is a great honor, and my profession is evaluated based on such achievements." He also explained, "This is something to be congratulated on and proud of, but I worry some may not see it that way," and "I will respond if there are any opinions that need addressing."

Previously, Moon had applied for emergency art support related to COVID-19 damages and received 14 million KRW in support from the Seoul Metropolitan Government. His recent post is interpreted as a response to controversies that arose in political circles regarding this matter.


He concluded his post by expressing gratitude to the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, saying, "I will work hard to create good works again this time." The post received nearly 4,000 likes and over 200 comments. Netizens responded with comments such as, "All those selected are the future of this country's culture and arts scene," and "Looking forward to your wonderful works."
