[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Volunteer Center of Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) has been making and delivering medicine boxes for elderly living alone every Thursday since the 3rd, together with members of the Namdo Sarang Volunteer Group (Representative Park Kyung-hwa).
The 'DIY Medicine Box Making Full of Sincerity and Happiness Project' for elderly living alone facing medical crises was selected as a program project of the Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center 2021 Namdo Sarang Volunteer Group and is being carried out with a project fund of 2 million won.
Volunteers from the Volunteer Center and the Namdo Sarang Volunteer Group plan to produce about 150 medicine boxes and deliver them to elderly neighbors living alone in the district by September.
Governor Kim San said, "Most elderly people suffer from chronic diseases such as hypertension, but they often have difficulty managing their medication and fail to follow the proper dosage instructions," adding, "We will continue enjoyable volunteer activities with the Namdo Sarang Volunteer Group for the safe old age of the elderly."
