Coupang Issues Statement Regarding Fire at Deokpyeong Logistics Center

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang apologized for the fire at the Deokpyeong logistics center and stated that it will actively cooperate with authorities not only in investigating the cause of the fire but also in the process of managing the aftermath. They also prayed for the safe return of the firefighter who has not yet been rescued.

On the 18th, Coupang issued a statement under the name of CEO Kang Han-seung, expressing this position. CEO Kang said, "We deeply apologize for causing great concern to many people due to the fire at the Deokpyeong logistics center" and "We will do our best to actively cooperate with the authorities in all processes, including investigating the cause of the fire and managing the aftermath."

CEO Kang continued, "We are saddened that one firefighter who was involved in extinguishing the fire has not yet been rescued, and we sincerely pray for a swift rescue on behalf of all Coupang members" and "We deeply appreciate the firefighters who are devotedly working to suppress the fire."
