LINE Plus to Establish Remote Work System... Announces 'Hybrid Work 1.0' Policy

LINE Plus to Establish Remote Work System... Announces 'Hybrid Work 1.0' Policy

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver affiliate Line Plus announced plans to extend its remote work system, including the introduction of a full remote work policy.

Line Plus announced on the 18th that it will officially implement the ‘Hybrid Work 1.0 (LINE Hybrid Work 1.0)’ system.

First, a hybrid work system combining office work and remote work will be introduced, allowing employees to choose from full remote work to remote work a few days per week. Accordingly, Line employees will be able to work remotely from their preferred locations even after the end of COVID-19.

The system will be piloted for one year from next month until the end of June next year, experimenting with flexible work styles and planning to continuously develop it in the long term.

The system will be applied first to Line’s domestic affiliates in Korea, including Line Plus, and after the test phase, it will be expanded to cover approximately 8,700 global employees.

Along with the new system, offices will be gradually transformed into ‘mobile offices’ based on a flexible seating system by the first half of next year, with some floors already having completed the transition to ‘mobile offices.’

Since the end of February last year, Line Plus has been implementing a selective remote work system allowing teams to choose remote work a few days per week. About 40% of all Line employees are currently working fully remotely without coming to the office. Approximately 80% of employees come to the office two days or fewer per week while continuing their work.
