[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Ministry of Unification urged the North to engage in dialogue, stating that the path to establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula lies in dialogue and cooperation.
At the regular briefing on the 18th, Deputy Spokesperson Cha Deok-cheol of the Ministry of Unification said, "The government would like to once again emphasize that the best way to stably manage the situation on the Korean Peninsula and establish lasting peace is through dialogue and cooperation."
This statement follows North Korean Workers' Party General Secretary Kim Jong-un's remarks at the Workers' Party Central Committee plenary meeting held the previous day, where he mentioned, "We must focus on stably managing the situation on the Korean Peninsula."
Deputy Spokesperson Cha said, "Since the 3rd plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee is still ongoing, we will closely and continuously monitor related developments."
