[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Kwon Chil-seung, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) and the Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 18th that they will hold an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Business Continuity Planning (BCP) workshop at the Glad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul.
This ongoing crisis response strategy workshop was organized to strengthen the crisis response capabilities of SMEs in APEC member countries and to help secure business continuity amid ongoing global environmental changes and threats such as the worldwide spread of infectious diseases.
The workshop will be conducted in a hybrid format, both online and offline, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. APEC member countries will participate in real-time online. Lee Sung-hee, Head of the Global Growth Division at SBC, said, "SBC has continuously carried out projects such as innovation consulting, forums, and seminars based on its network with 21 APEC member countries," adding, "We hope this BCP workshop will be a good opportunity for companies within the APEC region to acquire the capabilities to respond to unexpected management crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic."
