[Asia Economy Reporter Joesulgina] One Store, Korea's leading application market, has partnered with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to list all public apps. Until now, some public apps available on overseas app markets like Google Play were not registered on One Store, causing inconvenience for users.
According to One Store on the 18th, the company signed a ‘Business Agreement to Improve Convenience of Using Public Apps’ with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which outlines this collaboration. One Store and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety agreed to support smooth usage of apps developed and distributed by the public sector. This agreement is expected to enhance user convenience by registering all public apps.
One Store will actively support the registration and updating of related apps without difficulty and plans to add easily distinguishable marks to public apps to prevent users from mistakenly installing similarly named apps and entering sensitive personal information.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will actively promote the registration of all public apps on One Store. Cooperation will be extended to ensure that apps from central administrative agencies, local governments, public institutions, as well as private sector apps utilizing government public data?including individuals, organizations, and companies?are listed on One Store.
In particular, both parties will strive to promote public interest by timely exposing necessary public apps and ‘public-linked apps’?private apps connected to public apps?to the public during national disaster situations such as COVID-19, enabling rapid response to crises.
Lee Jaehwan, CEO of One Store, stated, “This business agreement is the result of our shared commitment with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to enhance accessibility and convenience for the public’s use of public apps as Korea’s representative app market prioritizing citizens’ safety.” He added, “We will faithfully serve as a bridge between public sector apps and users through close cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in the future.”
