On the 21st, LG Chem announced that it will hold the "1st LG Chem-Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers Petrochemical Olympiad" for domestic and international university students majoring in chemical engineering.
LG Chem is conducting the Olympiad for the first time this year as a platform for competition and exchange to help university students broaden their knowledge in chemical engineering and grow into innovative talents.
The competition fields of this Olympiad are divided into three categories: ▲ Productivity Improvement ▲ Process Safety ▲ Environment & Energy, and participants can apply by selecting one of these categories.
Any third- or fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in chemical engineering with Korean nationality, whether domestic or abroad, can participate. Teams of 2 to 3 members can apply. The application period is from June 21 to July 23, and applications can be submitted through the official LG Chem website.
After the application deadline, LG Chem will send the problems individually via email to the applicants, who must submit their answers by August 31. The submitted answers will be reviewed in two rounds by internal experts from LG Chem’s Global Production Center and external experts including professors from the Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers. The final results announcement and awards ceremony will be held in October.
The grand prize team will receive a prize of 5 million KRW per person and an internship opportunity at LG Chem (with potential for full-time employment).
