Support for Data at KAMP, Promotion of Smart Factory Advancement
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that starting from the 18th, it will begin accepting applications from domestic small and medium-sized manufacturing companies wishing to participate in the 'AI Smart Factory Construction Support Project,' which supports the AI smart factory transformation of these companies.
The Ministry is expanding the base of smart factory adoption and, through the AI SME Manufacturing Platform (KAMP), is supporting the advancement of existing smart factories centered on data and artificial intelligence.
The AI SME Manufacturing Platform 'KAMP (Korea AI Manufacturing Platform)' is an infrastructure for storing and analyzing manufacturing data, providing AI development and utilization tools, AI datasets and standard models, commercialized AI manufacturing services (solutions), expert consulting, and educational services.
Since the launch of the AI KAMP service in December last year, the industry has produced numerous notable success cases. Interojo introduced AI into the metal plating process, deriving optimal conditions and reducing the defect rate from 32% to 4.9%. Additionally, Chosun Refractory optimized the contact lens processing process with AI, increasing the prescription accuracy from 70% to 95%.
This project supports the advancement of AI solutions for companies that have completed demonstrations, their expanded application on-site, and the dissemination of AI solutions to similar and related industry companies. The budget allocated for this year is 20 billion KRW, and applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the budget is exhausted.
Verified excellent AI solutions through this project will be uploaded and disseminated in the 'Solution Store' of KAMP, scheduled to open next month.
Companies wishing to participate in the project can apply online through the Smart Factory Project Management System, and more detailed information can be found in the announcement posted on the websites of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the AI SME Manufacturing Platform, and the Smart Factory Project Management System.
