[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] Park Yongjin, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who declared his candidacy for the presidential election, criticized former Prosecutor General Yoon Seokyeol, the opposition presidential candidate, on the 17th, targeting his "relay politics," saying, "Is this the era of the 5th or 6th Republic?"
On the same day, Park said on his Facebook, "Among the presidential candidates from both ruling and opposition parties, who is there that does not speak with their own mouth but orders others to 'relay the message'?"
Park pointed out, "Politics is not a prosecution investigation," adding, "Unlike investigations that require confidentiality, politics is about clearly stating one's vision and plans and being verified." He explained, "Only then can risks be minimized and integration be led in deciding the country's affairs and the path of the community."
He also said, "When asked about his actions, he earned the nickname 'Yoon Chacha' with the absurd response 'You will know gradually,' and appointing a spokesperson from a journalist background to treat reporters like students in a dictation contest is a 'typical old-fashioned political grammar,' isn't it?"
Park elaborated, "The president is a position where one must be prepared to be criticized while doing what needs to be done," and "Like a chef who enters the kitchen, boiling water, preparing ingredients, sometimes getting burned or cut by a knife, it is a position that sweats to solve the people's livelihood issues."
He added, "It is not acceptable to just check the seasoning and seek attention without thinking about cooking to feed the people fully," pointing out, "This is evidence of a backward perception of politics."
Park criticized, "Now it seems there is nothing to verify and no vision to reveal, just a desire to become president," and "With less than nine months left until the presidential election, a 'gradual presidential candidate' who cannot even express their own thoughts with their own mouth and avoids the people's questions is underestimating the people too much."
