[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Global lifestyle and industrial goods company Henkel Korea will hold a YouTube live science experiment called 'Henkel Bangguseok Science Experiment' for children on the 17th to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Posherbelt10, Henkel's global science education initiative.
'Posherbelt' is a global science culture social contribution program by Henkel that encourages children's interest in science and provides various experimental opportunities. The German word Posherbelt means 'Scientists' Hill.' This educational program, which started in 2011 and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is being conducted in several countries around the world, including Korea, the United States, Germany, Russia, and Argentina. To date, more than 62,000 children have participated.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Posherbelt, Henkel Korea will conduct a real-time live science experiment through Henkel's official YouTube channel on the 17th. The experiment will include making food adhesives using flour, potatoes, cooked rice, gum, gummy bears, etc., comparing their strength, and fun activities such as building a cookie house together.
In particular, this live science experiment will be conducted by inviting children from the after-school class at Seodaemun Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Ulsan Science Museum, and children of Henkel employees remotely, providing them with pre-education kits beforehand.
Henkel Korea explained, "This education program was prepared as an online-offline hybrid program for children who have had fewer opportunities to conduct experiments directly due to the increase in non-face-to-face online learning caused by COVID-19. It was planned to stimulate learning interest through fun science experiments."
