[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] 'Biobita,' which has long been popular as a probiotic medicine for infants, is continuing its popularity by transforming into a lactate bacteria and probiotic product for the gut health of the whole family.
Biobita is a probiotic medicine developed domestically for the first time by Ildong Pharmaceutical in 1959. Ildong Pharmaceutical revamped Biobita into a gut health product that the entire family can consume while preserving the identity and strengths of the original Biobita. The new Biobita series consists of two types: 'Biobita Baebae' for babies and 'Biobita Family,' which can be consumed by everyone from toddlers to adults.
The Biobita series contains beneficial bacteria such as lactate bacteria and probiotics, prebiotics that serve as food for beneficial bacteria, as well as vitamins, folic acid, zinc, and colostrum components in a balanced manner. In particular, Biobita lactate bacteria, independently developed by Ildong Pharmaceutical, safely reach the intestines without artificial processing through its own protective membrane, settle and proliferate in the oxygen-free intestines, and perform their functions. It is also heat-resistant, surviving temperatures up to 90 degrees Celsius, making it possible to mix with formula or baby food.
An Ildong Pharmaceutical official said, “In addition to the existing brand power and product quality of Biobita, we have further upgraded it by reinforcing ingredients and strains and segmenting the products. We plan to promote the Biobita series along with the efficacy of the core ingredient, lactate bacteria.”
